A private estate, not a campsite

Quiet, space, exclusivity: what sets a stay at the Domaine du Dahu apart from a campsite or a holiday village.

Criterion Campsite / holiday village The Dahu private estate
Quiet Nearby pitches, sound systems, busy lanes Silence, a private lake, birdsong as the only background noise
Space Cramped, standardised pitches Chalets spaced out across a private estate of several hectares
Exclusivity A site shared with dozens, even hundreds of holidaymakers A confidential estate, no facing neighbours, just for its guests
Privacy Shared toilet blocks and pool A private shower room and a private terrace over the water
Setting Identical accommodation lined up in rows A floating chalet resting on a lake, deep in nature

Floating chalet: your technical questions

Stability, electricity, bathrooms: everything you wonder about before booking a night on the water.

Is a floating chalet stable?

Yes. Each chalet rests on floats and is firmly moored: it does not pitch. At most you feel a very slight rocking when you move around — most guests stop noticing it after a few minutes.

Is there electricity in the chalet?

Yes, the chalet is connected to mains electricity like any standard accommodation: lighting, sockets, heating and Wi-Fi. Nothing like comfortless camping.

How do the bathroom facilities work?

Each chalet has its own private shower room with a toilet and hot water. No shared facilities: everything is inside your own accommodation.

Is it cold at night on the water?

No. The chalets are insulated and heated: you stay warm whatever the season. The water even has a pleasant regulating effect on the temperature.

Is the chalet safe when it rains or it is windy?

The chalets are built to live on the water all year round and stay perfectly moored. You are dry and calm inside — hearing the rain on the lake from your bed is part of the charm.

Can you swim in the lake?

Swimming in the lake is not allowed. You enjoy the water differently: from the terrace, with no-kill fishing, or paddleboarding if you bring your own board (life jacket compulsory).
